(12/11/2025) New Releases and a First Look at the Spring Semester

Updated over 3 weeks ago

As the fall semester wraps and campuses move toward a well-deserved holiday break, our team has been focused on delivering new enhancements that support teaching and learning.

This month’s updates include a new feature you can use today and three upcoming releases designed to strengthen learner support heading into the spring semester.

Newly Released: Available for Your Courses Now

1. Lesson Recap

We now provide every learner with a clear, confidence-building summary after every Kyron lesson.

What’s new

  • New Lesson Recap page: A new overview page is now shown at the end of each lesson highlighting what learners accomplished and where they may need support

  • Progress at a Glance: Learners can see their completion status on the page and overall lesson progress

  • Key Takeaways: Kyron automatically identifies important moments in the lesson, including:

    • Areas where misconceptions may have surfaced

    • The specific questions connected to those moments

    • Useful context from the learner’s conversation

    • Clarifications to reinforce understanding

  • Actionable Next Steps: Learners can revisit a question or restart a lesson; instructors can view misconceptions for individuals or across a class

Why it matters
Lesson Recap gives learners a clear, meaningful picture of what they accomplished and where they may still need support. It prompts reflection and metacognition, empowers learners to self-correct or re-engage when misconceptions surface, and strengthens their sense of ownership over their learning. It also connects instructor insights with the learner’s own experience, making every Kyron lesson more transparent, guided, and purposeful.

Coming Soon: Available in the Early Spring Semester

1. Multiple Choice Review Conversations (Q1 Release)

A more supportive, human-like approach to multiple-choice learning.

What’s changing

  • Incorrect answers trigger a short, personalized conversation to uncover and resolve misconceptions

  • Learners receive targeted, scaffolded feedback to understand why their choice was incorrect before retrying

  • Correct answers display a simple chat-style confirmation that reinforces understanding

Why it matters
Learners receive immediate, tailored feedback that helps them repair misunderstandings before they take root. The conversational format encourages reflection and deeper reasoning, mirroring the support of a human tutor. And because the experience feels more encouraging and less repetitive, learners stay motivated and engaged—turning every misstep into a meaningful learning moment.

2. Updated Learner Player (Q1 Release)

A refreshed, more intuitive learning experience designed to help students stay oriented, engaged, and in control of their progress.

What’s new

  • A left-side table of contents with activity indicators and a clear progress bar

  • Easy NEXT and BACK buttons for moving forward or revisiting earlier sections

  • A synced, interactive transcript with real-time highlighting and clickable navigation

  • Built-in key term definitions directly within the transcript

  • A cleaner, more intuitive multiple-choice design

  • Light mode, dark mode, or system theme for a more comfortable viewing experience

Why it matters
The updated learner player gives students a clearer sense of progress, easier navigation, and a more streamlined learning environment. With improved structure and built-in guidance, students can focus on understanding the material rather than finding their way through it—leading to a more engaging, confident learning experience.

3. User Roles (Q1 Release)

An update on how academic teams can manage and collaborate on Kyron lesson content.

What’s new

You can now assign four roles at either the organization or lesson level: Viewer, Commenter, Editor, and Manager.

This allows teams to:

  • Protect lesson content from accidental edits or early publishing

  • Collaborate easily with TAs, adjuncts, SMEs, or external reviewers via lesson-level “guest access”

  • Establish clear responsibilities across editors, reviewers, and managers

Why it matters
User Roles give institutions greater control and clearer governance. Teams can easily involve TAs, adjuncts, SMEs, or external reviewers through guest access while protecting the integrity of their lesson library. Clear permissions reduce confusion, streamline collaboration, and ensure only vetted lessons are published, helping teams create and manage high-quality content with confidence.
