Instructors - Multilingual Conversations

Kyron's AI-guided conversations support multiple languages, so learners can respond in the language they're most comfortable using. The AI tutor automatically detects the learner's language from their response and continues the conversation in that language.

This applies across all guided conversation activity types, including Clarifying Conversation, Exploratory Conversation, Reflective Conversation, and Multiple Choice with Conversation.

How it works

  1. The learner starts the conversation as usual. The AI tutor's opening question appears in the language the lesson was originally created in.

  2. The learner responds in their preferred language.

  3. The AI tutor detects the language and responds in that language.

  4. The tutor continues using that language as long as the learner responds in it. If the learner switches to another language, the tutor follows the switch.

Example:

In the screenshot below, the AI tutor's question is presented in English. The learner responds in Spanish, so the AI tutor follows up in Spanish.

Important to know

  • Language switching happens automatically based on the learner's input; there is no configuration required.

  • Learners can switch back to the lesson's original language or switch to a third language during the conversation.

  • Other lesson elements, such as video narration and multiple-choice options, remain in the language the lesson was originally created in.
