D2L Brightspace Integration
Kyron Learning seamlessly integrates with D2L Brightspace, a widely adopted Learning Management System (LMS), empowering you to effortlessly incorporate Kyron Learning's interactive learning materials directly into your D2L courses. This streamlined integration fosters a cohesive learning environment, simplifies content delivery, and enhances student engagement.

Requirements
Kyron Learning Account: Create a Kyron Learning account to access the platform's course creation tools.
Brightspace Account: You'll need an active D2L Brightspace account with administrative privileges to configure the integration.
Configuration
1. Register Kyron as an LTI Advantage Tool on Brightspace
A. Login to to your Brightspace account as an Administrator
B. Click Admin Tools (top right) and search and select “Manage Extensibility”
C. Select the “LTI Advantage” pane and click “Register Tool”
D. Fill in the Registration Fields:
Select “Standard Registration” and “Enabled”
Enter Name & Description of your choice (something like “Kyron Learning LTI”)
Fill in: Domain, Redirect URLs, OpenID Connect Login URL, Target Link URI, Keyset URL (see table)

E. Enable the following configuration options:
Extensions: enable “Assignment and Grade Services” (AGS)
Roles: enable “Send Institution Role”
F. Click “Register” - the window will refresh with your “Brightspace Registration Details”. Save these or keep the window open, as you’ll use these to register Brightspace on the Kyron platform. (You can always re-open an existing registration and scroll to the bottom to review these details)
2. Register Brightspace as an Integration on Kyron
A. As a Kyron Admin user navigate to Settings > Integrations at
B. Click Register Platform
C. Refer to your “Brightspace Registration Details” to fill-in every field
D. Click save to save the configuration. You should now see a new entry in your
Integrations list.
3. Create a Brightspace Deployment for your new tool
A. Return to your Brightspace account as an administrator
B. Click Admin Tools (top right) and search and select “External Learning Tools”
C. Click the “New Deployment” button.
D. Select your Registered Tool (see step 1), and give it a name and description.
E. Configure Extensions and Security Settings
a. Enable Assignment and Grade Services (AGS)
b. Enable User Information sharing (without user information enabled, all user
actions will be reported as “anonymous” across all Kyron dashboards)
F. Configuration Settings
a. We recommend enabling “Open as External Resource” – this will make it
easier for your learners to access Kyron content on mobile devices (the
instructor/course creator can toggle this setting for each assignment as
needed)
b. We recommend including Grade Items to auto-score your assignments, but
you may decide to toggle whether grades are included in the course’s final
grade and Grade Item creation based on your deployment.
G. Add Org Units
a. Varies by deployment. If you want to make it available to everyone, select
your top-level organization and select “This org unit and all descendants”
H. Click “Create Deployment”.
4. Add two links to access your deployment
A. Click back into the deployment you just created
B. Scroll to the bottom and click View Links
C. Click New Link to create your first deployment link.
D. Fill in the fields below:
a. Enabled: Turned on
b. Name: Any name that will make it easy for your instructors to find Kyron
c. URL: Must be https://www.kyronlearning.com/lti/v1/launch
d. Description: Any description you choose
e. Type: Must be Deep Linking Quicklink
E. Save and Close
F. Create another New Link to get analytics about your learners
G. Fill in the fields below:
a. Enabled: Turned on
b. Name: Kyron Analytics, or any name that will work for your deployment
c. URL: Must be https://www.kyronlearning.com/lti/v1/launch
d. Description: Any description you choose
e. Type: Must be Basic Launch
f. Custom Parameters: Add a custom parameter with the name
launch_analytics and value true
H. Save and close
5. Add Analytics to the Navbar
While you may choose to put the analytics button wherever you see fit, we recommend in the Navbar for easy instructor access (learners do not need this button).
A. Click Admin Tools (top right) and search and select “Navigation & Themes”
B. Select the Navbar being used in your courses, or the default
C. Click Add Links
D. Click Create Custom Link
E. Click Insert Quicklink
F. Select External Learning Tools, and then choose your Kyron Analytics link.
G. Fill in the rest of the Custom Link form. Below are our recommended values:
a. Name: Kyron Analytics
b. Behavior: Same window
c. Description: Any description you choose
d. Availability:
i. Share with child org units: We recommend checking this box
ii.Limit to specific roles: We recommend Super administrator,
Administrator, Instructor, and Facilitator
H. Click Create, then Add the link, and move to the ideal place in your Navbar.
6. Add a Kyron Learning Asset to an assignment
At this point, your Kyron Deployment is ready for instructors and course creators to access. Here’s how to add a Kyron Learning Asset on Brightspace:
A. Navigate to the Course and Lesson in which you’d like to add an activity
B. Click "Add Existing”
C. Find and click Kyron Deployment that you created in Step 3
D. You will now see a Deep Linking course selector, which contains all the
courses in the Kyron Organization that you registered as an LTI Tool.
E. Click “Submit Selection”. With that, your Kyron assignment is ready! 🎉
