Recording Personalized Videos
Updated over 5 months ago

Creating and uploading personalized videos is a great way to connect with your audience, and for your students to feel like they’re still taking a course from YOU!

Here are a few ways you can record a personalized video to include in your lessons:

Recording in Kyron Studio

For all segments, you are able to record a video of yourself directly in Studio. Using this method will create a video that shows only your face.

1. Click on the segment you wish to record.

2. Select “Use my own video” > “Record video” from the media options.

3. Record your video by clicking the red circle at the bottom of the pop up (you may need to scroll down a little). You can either record your own content, or read aloud the transcript from the AI generated video at the top of the screen.

  • If you choose to read aloud the transcript, you can zoom in or out by clicking the magnifying glasses in the upper right corner.

4. After recording your video, scroll down and click “Preview.” From there, you can watch your recorded video and either re-record it or save it to your lesson.

5. After saving your video, the pop up will close and you will see your personally recorded video in the editor. Please note that it may take a few moments for your video to load.

  • Even after recording your video, you can still replace it with a different video file, or re-record in Studio.

    • Click “Replace video” to choose a different video file.

    • Click “Record video” to re-record.

Using Google Slides to Record Videos

Google Slides provides an easy way to record videos from within the app. First, you’ll want to create the visuals for your course on a Google Slides presentation. Then, you’re ready to record! With Google Slides, you have the option to record a video or a voice over. Either way, Studio will consider this to be a video since the file will be in a video format.

1. Click the “Rec” button in the upper right corner of the screen.

2. Click “Record new video” from the pop up that appears.

3. You will be taken to the recording screen. Before you begin recording, there are a few settings you are able to adjust to fit what you need.

*Note: If you only wish to record a voice over, you will need to click the video icon to the right of the red dot to turn off your camera.

4. When you are ready to record, click the red circle. In the pop up that appears, click “Allow” to allow access to view what is in your tab. You will then be counted down from 3 and your recording will begin.

5. When you are done recording, click the red square at the bottom of the screen. If you feel good about your recording, click “Save to Drive” in the upper right corner. However, if you’d like to try again, simply click “Re-record.”

6. Once you click “Save to Drive,” you will be returned to the Google Slides editing view and see a notification that your recording is processing.

7. Repeat steps 1-6 for the number of videos you wish to record.

  • If you adjusted the placement or size of the picture-in-picture, you will need to adjust it to the same settings each time you record a new video.

  • If you only wish to record a voice over, you will need to remember to turn off your camera before recording each time.

To view your recordings, locate the folder “Slide Recordings” in your Drive.

  • All of your video recordings done through Google Slides will always be uploaded into this folder. If you plan on recording multiple courses this way, it is recommended that you create separate subfolders to organize the videos for each course.

From there, you can rewatch your videos and then download them to your computer so that you can upload them into your Studio course.

Using QuickTime Player to Record Videos

If your computer has QuickTime Player, you can also use that program to record a video or voice over.

  • To create a video, select “New Movie Recording.”

  • To create a voice over, select “New Screen Recording.”

Once you have recorded your videos or voice overs, you can save them onto your computer to then upload into your Studio course.
