Instructors - Canvas Instructor View: Assignments

When you open a Kyron lesson assignment in Canvas, the Submission Review panel gives you an at-a-glance view of student progress and the concepts students may be struggling with.

The Student List

The Student List gives you an overview of student activity. Use it to identify students who may need additional support or follow-up.

For each student, you can see:

  • Started At: When the student began the lesson.

  • Status: Whether the student has completed the lesson.

  • Completed At: When the student completed the lesson.

  • Completion: The percentage of the lesson the student completed. This is a measure of progress, not an assessment score.

  • Misconceptions: The number of misconceptions Kyron identified during the student's work.

Misconceptions highlight incorrect or incomplete understanding identified during the student's interactions with the lesson. Review them to identify specific concepts that may need to be reinforced or addressed with additional instruction.

Use the arrows at the top of the panel to move to the next or previous student without returning to the Student List.

Why it's useful

Completion tells you how much of the lesson a student completed. Misconceptions help you understand which concepts may need additional support.

Together, these insights can help you identify students who may need follow-up and determine what concepts to reinforce.

Before you start

Be sure your Canvas administrator has completed the LTI 1.3 Setup on Canvas configuration before using Submission Review. This setup enables Kyron to send student activity and submission data to Canvas.
