Writing Pronunciation

At times, you may notice our AI avatar mispronouncing words or acronyms. You may need to phonetically spell words or acronyms so they are read correctly.

  • NOTE: If you need to phonetically spell a word or acronym in the text field, that is also how it will appear in the closed captioning.

Read this article for more information on how to support our avatar with pronouncing text accurately.

A note on editing the text

There are a few symbols we do not support: <, >, {, and }. If your text contains these characters, you will see this message below the Video Transcript field.

  • It may be the case that your course is generated with these characters in the text field.

    • If you make any edits to the text, those characters will go away.

    • If you do not make any edits to the generated text, you will still need to manually remove those characters. If you do not, you will run into an error when trying to generate your video.

  • If you try to copy and paste text that includes these characters, your text will be pasted without those characters.

  • If you try to type one of these characters, it won’t register in the text field.
