There are two ways to create a Lesson on Kyron: using Kyron Content or our Content Echo feature. This article will walk through the steps of creating a lesson using Kyron Content.
Refer to this article to learn about creating a lesson with Content Echo.
1. Click the “+ New” button.
2. Click “Lesson” and click Next.
3. Select Kyron Content, then click next.
For information on Content Echo, refer to this article.
4. Fill in the required fields.
Alternatively, you can select one of the Example lessons at the top, and these fields will auto-populate for you.
Optional: If you have existing, text-based resources (PDF, TXT, or docx) you’d like to upload to support our AI with creating a tailored course to your materials, you can upload a maximum of 3 documents.
NOTE: This is different from Content Echo. If you upload documents here, they will simply influence the content that is generated. If you want to create a lesson that is a direct copy of your document, please use Content Echo.
5. Click “Generate lesson outline” in the bottom right when all fields have been filled.
6. You’ll see our AI plan the sections in your lesson on the next page.
Once this process is done, you will see an outline of all the sections in your lesson.
Note: By default, lessons don’t include assessments. To add them, check the box under the section objective.
You can edit the learning objective of each section to directly impact the course that is built.
If you’d like, you can add more sections to your course. Simply click “+Add Section,” select the duration and enter your section objective, and click Add Section. Our AI will create the section title and refine your objective.
If you’d like assessment activities to be generated, be sure to check the box.
If you’d like to rearrange the order in which the modules appear, you can do so by following these steps:
Hover over the module you wish to move
Click the waffle icon on the left
Click and drag it into the desired location.
You can also select the video format you would like for your lecture videos.
The default is multi-scene videos. You can change to single-scene videos by selecting it from the dropdown.
7. Once you have ensured you have all the sections you want in the desired order, click “Generate my lesson.”
8. You will be taken to a new page where you can see our AI begin to create your lesson!
This process will take a few moments, so feel free to navigate away from the page. You will receive an email once your course has been created.
9. Once your lesson has been created, you will be able to view all of the activities and content. Review the content and make any necessary changes/edits.
You can:
Edit the text manually, or use our Easy Edit feature.
Add and edit activities.
For more information on each activity type, refer to the documents on lectures, clarifying conversations, and exploratory conversations.
Change the AI tutor’s voice, the AI Avatar, or upload your institution’s branding in Asset Settings.
Note: When you first generate your lesson, you will see a mountain image used as a placeholder
To generate the actual image for review, you can either click the image button and generate the image (Image 1), or click Generate Scene (Image 2).
10. Once you are done making all your edits/changes, you will need to generate all the videos in your lesson before publishing.
Read this article for more information on how to generate the videos for your lesson.
A few notes on course creation:
On the “Lesson Sections” page, any edits you make here will not affect what you inputted in the previous “Course Overview” page.
For example, if you add a new section with a new objective, this will not change the learning objectives on the previous “Course Overview” page.
If you are on the “Lesson Sections” page and go back to the “Lesson Overview” page to make edits, those changes will override what was on the “Lesson Sections” page.
For example, if you go back and change your learning objectives on the “Course Overview” page, the AI will re-plan your course and you will notice the section title and objective(s) have changed.
Each section in a lesson covers one learning objective, and will be roughly 30 minutes long. It will consist of lecture videos, multiple choice questions, discussion activities, and a short section assessment.
Depending on the lesson duration you select, not all learning objectives may be covered.
For example, if you initially input three learning objectives but choose a 1-hour course, only two objectives will be included.
If you add additional lesson sections during the second step of the creation process, your course duration will increase.
For example, if you initially created a 30-minute course and then added a new module, the total course length will extend to 1 hour.
